Privacy Policy

Josi is operated by SOCAL RECEPTIONIST LLC ("Josi," "we," "us," or "our"). This policy explains what information Josi may process, why it is used, and the choices available to you.

Information we process

• Account information: name, email address, authentication provider, and account-security status.
• Device and connection information: device name, operating system, connection settings, session identifiers, and credential status.
• Conversation content: messages, attachments, and voice transcripts you choose to send through Josi.
• Connected-service context: email, calendar, contact, task, and other connected-service information used only when it is needed to answer or carry out a request you make.
• Technical information: diagnostics, crash details, security events, and basic usage information needed to operate and improve the service.
• Support communications: information you provide when contacting support.

How information is collected and used

We collect information directly from you when you create or use an account, type a message, choose an attachment, start voice input, connect a service, or contact support. We collect limited technical information automatically when the app communicates with a Josi CE server. We use this information to provide the app, authenticate users and devices, synchronize permitted settings, route requests to connected services, generate the response or action you request, maintain security, troubleshoot failures, respond to support requests, and comply with law.

AI processing and your permission

The Josi CE app does not send conversation content for AI processing until it displays an in-app disclosure and you tap Allow AI Processing. The disclosure identifies the selected Josi CE server, names its currently configured AI provider, lists the categories of information that may be sent, and explains the purpose. Choosing Not Now prevents that transmission. You may withdraw permission from the app's More screen.

When permission is granted, the app sends the information needed for your request to the Josi CE server you selected. That server may process the request on operator-controlled hardware or transmit it to the specifically named AI provider configured by the server. Information is sent only to generate the response or carry out the action you requested. Changing the configured provider requires a new in-app permission.

AI recipients

Depending on the Josi CE deployment selected by the user, the named AI recipient may be OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI, DeepSeek, Alibaba Qwen, Mistral AI, Moonshot AI (Kimi), Zhipu AI (GLM), OpenRouter, MiniMax, Google Gemini, Cohere, Amazon Web Services (Amazon Bedrock), Microsoft (Azure AI), Google Cloud (Vertex AI), Baidu (ERNIE), Tencent (Hunyuan), or a model running on infrastructure selected and controlled by the deployment operator. Not every deployment enables every provider. The app identifies the actual configured recipient before asking permission.

Service providers selected and operated by SOCAL RECEPTIONIST LLC are required to protect personal information to the same or a greater degree than described in this policy and to use it only to provide the requested service. An independently operated or self-hosted Josi CE deployment is controlled by its operator; its administrator selects its server and AI provider and is responsible for those services' configuration and legal terms.

Google user data

If you choose to connect a Google account, Josi requests read-only access to Gmail messages and Google Calendar events. Josi uses this access to answer your questions about your own email and schedule, summarize messages or events you ask about, and help you remember relevant commitments. Josi does not request permission to send or modify email or to create, edit, or delete calendar events.

Josi's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Google user data is not used for advertising, sold, or used to train generalized AI models.

Credential handling

We design Josi to use separate, revocable device credentials where supported. Sensitive credentials should be stored using operating-system secure storage. We do not sell credentials or conversation content.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share information only as needed with the selected Josi CE server and the AI recipient named in the in-app disclosure; with authentication, hosting, email, and error-monitoring processors that help operate Josi; when you direct us to connect another service; to protect users and the service; or when legally required.

Retention and deletion

Josi CE servers may retain account information, conversation history, attachments, connected-service records, consent records, and security events until the user or deployment operator deletes them or they are removed under the deployment's retention settings. We retain information we control only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, legal obligations, security, dispute resolution, and service operation. AI providers may retain request data under the provider configuration and terms disclosed by the deployment operator. You may withdraw future AI permission in the app and request account or data deletion by following our account and data deletion instructions.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards. No system is perfectly secure. Protect your devices, use strong authentication, and revoke lost devices promptly.

Children

Josi is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your privacy rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, or object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise those rights.

Changes

We may update this policy. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice when required.
